Families in Global Transition 2018 Conference

Diverse voices celebrating the past, present, and future of globally mobile lives

We are pleased to announce our 2018 Annual Conference #FIGT18NL will be held in The Hague, the Netherlands, March 8-10, 2018. 

The 2018 Families In Global Transition (FIGT) conference will continue to build bridges between communities and sectors as expressed in our mission statement:

FIGT is a welcoming forum for globally mobile individuals, families, and those working with them. Our mission is to promote cross-sector connections for sharing research and developing best practices that support the growth, success, and well-being of people crossing cultures around the world. 

The program of FIGT18NL will tell the story of the past 20 years of growth in our understanding of globally mobile lives. This year, FIGT continues to encourage acceptance and especially aims to celebrate the increased diversity of our growing community. We are inviting globally mobile, individuals as well as those who sponsor, support, and study them, to share their perspectives on challenges and solutions related to a globally mobile lifestyle.

We would like to receive proposals that represent these different perspectives: 

Leaders of the move (sponsors)

  • Businesses, missionaries, diplomats, military, international governmental and international non-governmental organizations, and other such globally mobile entities
Movers
  • Sponsored and self-initiated expats, lifestyle expats, refugees
  • Adult expats, expat partners, Third Cultural Kids (TCKs) Adult Third Cultural Kids (ATCKs), and Cross Cultural Kids (CCKs)

 Supporters

  • Educational institutions,  therapeutic services, relocation specialists

Others

  • Artists, media, entrepreneurs, humanitarians, and other areas not listed but relevant

  • Concurrent Session
  • Keynote
  • Kitchen Table Conversation
  • Lightning Session
  • Panel Discussion
  • Poster

Thank you everyone who participated; we received a record number of proposals! Our volunteer Program Committee is now hard at work on the selection process and you'll be notified of their decision in mid to late October.
