Maryam Afnan Ahmad 

Maryam Afnan Ahmad is originally from Pakistan and currently lives in Northern Virginia outside of Washington DC. She has an MBA from Pakistan's Lahore University of Management Sciences and previously taught at NUST Business School in Islamabad. She conducted corporate and personal development programs in Pakistan and China and served in a variety of volunteer roles in the expat community. Today Maryam teaches full time at the Edlin School in Reston, VA and is also a writer, trainer, teacher, expat, and diplomatic spouse. She is the co-author of Slurping Soup and Other Confusions, a story and activity book for 3-12-year- olds; created with a group of six intercultural mothers and Parent Effectiveness Trainers. Maryam is a Certified Trainer for Parent Effectiveness Training. She has served on the FIGT Board since October 2013. Maryam's interests include art, fiction, poetry, and world cultures.
