Session title: Families on the Move - Across Borders and Cultures
Carolyn is the CEO of Children and Families Across Borders, the UK branch of International Social Service. Formed after WWII, CFAB protects children and reunites them with their families in over 130 countries. In 2022, she helped the ISS become an Accredited Commonwealth Organisation and co-founded the Commonwealth Children’s Interest Group to support civil society organisations to advance child rights across the Commonwealth countries.Carolyn is also Vice-Chair of the Global Social Service Workforce Alliance, which works toward a world where a well-trained and well-supported social service workforce improves the lives of vulnerable populations.
Carolyn frequently publishes on the challenges of determining a child’s best interest across cultural norms and legal frameworks, including Family‘s Global Kinship Care Guide (January 2024).
