Global Gathering 2025
Over the past several years we’ve met in virtual rooms and in regional gatherings, but we are excited to announce a very special in-person Global Gathering! We'll come together to celebrate the 80th birthday of FIGT’s key founder: Ruth Van Reken. This special event will also include the launch of a new book, “Letters Now Sent,” a collection of letters inspired by Ruth’s renowned memoir: “Letters Never Sent.” The gathering is open to FIGT members and nonmembers alike. We hope you'll join us - Strangers are just friends we have yet to meet!
Global Gathering Schedule (subject to change):
Friday, July 25, 2025:

- 5pm - 8pm: Meet and Greet at Venue*. Light appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages served

- 9am - 12pm: Coffee and Connect at Venue. Coffee/Tea and pastries served
- 12pm - 5pm: No host lunch and sightseeing in downtown Chicago. Transportation to/from venue site at own cost and sites of interest/tours at own cost.
- 2pm - 5pm: Coffee and Connect at Venue (Coffee/Tea and pastries served) or sightseeing in Chicago. Transportation to/from venue site at own cost and sites of interest/tours at own cost.
- 6pm - 9pm: Ruth's Birthday Celebration at Venue. Dinner and Dessert served
- Self-directed and led informal meetings not held at the venue; please arrange your meetings at your own determined location.
Registration Cost: $100 USD per person. Registration cost covers: venue, food as noted in the schedule, bouncy castle, birthday decor. Registration cost does not cover transportation or personal accommodation or meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Click HERE to register.
For Global Gathering Registrants Only: There will be a WhatsApp group started for all registrants in April 2025 so that people can begin to connect with each other and plan meet up agendas.
