Video Presentation: ALIEN CITIZEN: An Earth Odyssey
Recording provided by Elizabeth Liang
Who are you when you’re from everywhere and nowhere? ALIEN CITIZEN: An Earth Odyssey is a funny and poignant solo show about growing up as a dual citizen of mixed heritage in Central America, North Africa, the Middle East, and New England. The play depicts the Third Culture Kid (TCK) and multiracial experiences. In her show, Elizabeth Liang weaves humorous stories about growing up as an Alien Citizen abroad with American commercial jingles providing her soundtrack through language confusion, first love, "racial ambiguity," culture shock, sexual harassment, Clark Gable, and sandstorms… Elizabeth deals with the decisions every global nomad has to make repeatedly: to adapt or to simply cope; to build a bridge or to just tolerate. How does a young girl cope as a border/culture/language/religion straddler in country after country that feels "other" to her when she is the “other?” Where is the line between respecting others and betraying yourself? Humor is a good coping mechanism, and the show ultimately honors Elizabeth’s unusual and extraordinary upbringing.

Millennials Forum
Led by Megan Norton, Mikaela Newbanks, Bryce Newbanks
Friends, family, colleagues, children, adults, partners, parents, millennials, this forum welcomes the entire FIGT community to join in the conversation! The topic of the third annual Millennial Forum unpacks what diversity and inclusion looks like in our lives. Led by Megan Norton and Kira Miller Fabregat, this forum provides a space to discuss how culture impacts our perceptions, beliefs, behaviors, and responses. We'll talk about how to recognize and respond effectively and appropriately to diversity and inclusion dynamics and how to be an actively inclusive leader in our lives and bigger world. Of course, being a "Millennial" forum, there will be virtual and technology components. #millennialforum #welcome
